Euskal Lana - The Basque Job
The 110th edition of the Tour de France will start in the heart of the Basque Country Bilbao departing on Saturday 1 July 2023. For this special occasion in Bilbao, we have prepared a bicycle tour with different surprises for you during the initial stages of the TdF 2023.
This trip is not a race to be contested, but a way to enjoy the passion for cycling, mountain passes and the best of cycling culture. We take care of everything so that you can enjoy an unforgettable and unique trip: transport, feed stops and supplies, mechanical assistance, luxury 4* hotels, and everything you need.
We will be opening our new shop in there during these days and will visit the best spots to enjoy the 2023 Tour the France.

DAY 1 - BILBAO TEST RIDE
Thursday

Our first ride is an easy spin to shake off the cobwebs, but it’s also very pretty, heading south and west along the Bilbao Valley. Here we are going to pass by La Arboleda Park, a big forest located at the top of one of surrounding Bilbao Mountains. This is the time to make sure everything with your bike is perfect – if something’s not quite right, let a mechanic or a guide know and we’ll be sure to fix it before the tough riding begins.
DAY 2 - PRE TdF - West Coast Loop

This route takes us north towards Alto de la Granja and Castro-Urdiales with its breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean. But the highlight of this ride is the climb and views of Alto Peñas Negras. A special dinner will be awaiting us as a rewards in Bilbao secret spot.
DAY 3 - STAGE 1 TdF - North Coast Loop

70km & 1,180m // 102km & 2,150m
Just shy of 70 kilometers, this ride should test your stamina, but also reward your efforts with some stunning countryside and plenty of quiet roads. Today, we ride northeast in a loop that circles Mungia. Expect viewpoints with great views over the lush green scenery and spectacular views over the Atlantic Ocean. An optional 102km route available. A special location with some refresment and local food will be waiting us in a espectacular spot to enjoy the last climb of the Stage 1.
DAY 4 - STAGE 2 TdF - South Mountian Range - Departure

117km & 1,590m
An Early bird ride towards south will lead us directly to Legutio, where the Stage 2 will go through after we arrive. Then we gonna came back to Bilbao enjoying the last kilometers of this spectacular trip. A regarding shower will be waiting us in our hotel.
Tomorrow is our final day together and after a leisurely breakfast, it will be time to say goodbye, or at least arrivederci, until we meet again. Transfers to the airport will be arranged by our hard-working crew but if you’re planning on staying a few extra days, let us know if we can help with reservations or a few recommendations.
