Good afternoon everyone,

There are just over 3 days left before the event, and we have many questions on our minds. Let's try to resolve them.

BEFORE SATURDAY, OCTOBER 5TH:

1.- WELCOME BAG:

This bag can be picked up starting from Thursday, October 3rd, in the afternoon, until Friday, October 4th, at 8:30 PM at VELODROM BARCELONA.

In this bag, you will find:

  • Gifts from Velodrom and our partner brands (ENVE Composites, Pirelli, Pas Normal Studios, 226ers, Rapha, Ceramic Speed, and Ramón Monegal).
  • Gels and bars courtesy of 226ers.
  • A bracelet to access the aid stations. Remember to wear the bracelet on the day of the event.
  • A ticket to request your sandwich at the halfway aid station.
  • A plastic tag with your name to attach to the bag you will give to the van at the start. Bags without this plastic tag will not be accepted. Remember to attach it to your backpack. Only backpacks will be transported, NO LUGGAGE.
  • If you purchased it, a bracelet to access the bus back to Barcelona. Also, a tag with your name to attach to your bike upon arrival in Cadaqués. Remember to leave the tag in your backpack to attach it to your bike for transportation back. Wear the bracelet on the event day to access the return bus.
  • If you purchased it, a ticket for your afterparty meal at "El Merder" in Cadaqués. Remember to bring the card to collect your meal.

2.- SIGN THE LIABILITY WAIVER (mandatory to participate in the event)

4.- DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL THE TRACK ON YOUR GPS DEVICE – EXTREMELY IMPORTANT AND MANDATORY (If you lose your group, you can follow the track while waiting for the next group to catch up)

5.- What do I need to prepare?

  • IT IS MANDATORY TO HAVE THE TRACK DOWNLOADED. EACH CYCLIST IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THEMSELVES.
  • IT IS MANDATORY TO BE A LICENSED RIDER OR HAVE PURCHASED THE EVENT DAY INSURANCE. THOSE WHO DO NOT MEET EITHER REQUIREMENT WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE.
  • Stops will not exceed 15/20 minutes. We ask everyone to stay committed to the schedule.
  • We recommend bringing a windbreaker or vest to protect against the weather. It can get cold in the Vic plains, as well as during the descent halfway through the route.
  • MANDATORY USE OF A REAR LED LIGHT.
  • Two water bottles. Remember that each cyclist should carry their own electrolytes, and for safety, some extra gels or bars.
  • Puncture repair kit. You need to be self-sufficient.

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 5TH - EVENT DAY

1.- Starting point:
To avoid crowds and disturbances for neighbors, as happened in previous years, this year the start will take place from the roundabout located below Forat del Vent/Cementi de Collserolla.
Google Maps location

The support van will be there to collect your bag so you can start your ride to Cadaqués.

2.- START TIMES:

For this edition, we will not have closed groups; we will have open starts. Depending on your estimated speed, we recommend starting at the following times based on your average speed. Do not start earlier if you plan to ride fast, as aid stations may not yet be available.

  • If your estimated speed is 24km/h or 26km/h avg, we recommend starting between 07:00 and 07:30.
  • If your estimated speed is 26km/h to 28km/h avg, we recommend starting between 07:15 and 07:45.
  • If your estimated speed is around 30km/h avg, there will be a group starting at 08:30 from Barcelona. This group will not wait for anyone who falls behind.

You MUST LEAVE YOUR CHANGE OF CLOTHES BAG IN THE SUPPORT VAN, which you will find AT THE MEETING POINT at the start. You will only be able to recover it AT THE END OF THE ROUTE.

2.- AID STATIONS:

  • KM 76 Seva (09:30 to 11:00):
You will find the aid station truck past the town of Seva, on a small entrance on the right, in an industrial area, on a ramp. Some of you may remember it from last year. The track passes through the aid station. Here, you will find: WATER, SOFT DRINKS, DRIED FRUITS, BANANAS, SWEETS.
  • KM 133 Alto del Coll de Condreu (13:00 to 15:00):
At the top of the climb, and before starting the descent towards Olot, you will find: WATER, SOFT DRINKS, DRIED FRUITS, BANANAS, SWEETS... This stop will be quick.
  • KM 184 Besalú (14:00 to 16:00):
The track passes through the aid station. It is very IMPORTANT to stay alert so as not to miss it, although there will be staff at the location. Here, you will find sandwiches and pizza, with vegan/vegetarian options available.
  • KM 227 Castelló de Ampuries (16:00 to 18:00):
Usual point for the last aid station. You will find: WATER, SOFT DRINKS, DRIED FRUITS, BANANAS, SWEETS.
  • If you have any food intolerances and need special food, you can leave a bag with your prepared food with the support van on Saturday. You will be able to find this bag at the aid stations. Velodrom is NOT responsible for valuable items left in this bag.

3.- DURING THE STAGE:

1.- We will have a photography vehicle. Please respect safety rules. Ride in pairs. Obey traffic lights, yield, and STOP signs. WE ARE NOT RIDING ALONE.

To make the photographer's job easier, and to not compromise our safety or that of other drivers, we ask you not to do anything reckless behind the car and to facilitate overtaking.

2.- The vehicles will have water, apart from what we find at the aid stations.

3.- If you reach the top of a climb alone, we advise waiting for two or three people and continuing in small groups. We recommend riding in small groups to save energy and for everyone's safety.

4.- WHAT SHOULD I WEAR AND BRING WITH ME?

This is just advice:

  • SHORT BIB SHORTS.
  • SHORT-SLEEVED JERSEY WITH A LIGHT BASE LAYER.
  • LONG-SLEEVED WINDBREAKER JACKET, TO AVOID WEARING ARM WARMERS.
  • 4 BARS AND 3 GELS. 6 SALT TABLETS. Considering the aid stations, this should be more than enough.

5.- ARRIVAL IN CADAQUÉS:

1.- We will find the vans to load the bikes and collect the bags that were left in Barcelona at the SABA PARKING in Cadaqués. The parking entrance is on the track. The trucks will be at the end of the SABA parking.

2.- Once changed, and after handing in the bike to be loaded into the van, we will head to the "El Merder" restaurant.

Only if you have booked the meal can you dine at the restaurant, if you have not, you wont be able to. But you can stop by and have a cold drink or beer at the bar "El Merder," as it will be open for all participants.

6.- BUS LOGISTICS:

The bus will depart punctually at 9:00 PM from Cadaqués, so you need to be at the main roundabout in Cadaqués 10 minutes before.

The bus will drop us off in Barcelona, near Plaza Alfons Comín, on Ronda de Dalt.
At this point, the bicycles will also be unloaded.
